It was late afternoon on a September canoe trip on what had been a very cloudy day. We’d had some good paddling and fishing when we turned the canoe around to head back to our campsite. Right then, the clouds began to break and scatter, and the late afternoon sun burst colorful rays across the western sky. It was a great ending to a great day.
